If this had not happened, we never would have met...
If I hadn't gotten accepted to Texas Tech and moved nine hours away from home, I'd have never met Brock. If my mom hadn't known Amy's mom from work and made us room together in the dorms, I'd have never met Brock through her.
If Brock had accepted his offer to UT, he never would have met me.

Burleson
We're in Burleson for the weekend to celebrate Christmas with Brock's family. We mapped out our runs for around here, and this morning Brock did his 12 mile run, and I did my two miles. :) It's nice running somewhere you are unfamiliar with because you turn on a street and it's like, oh hey, I'm almost finished!
Caleb and Ashley are going to come over in a little while and we're going to exchange gifts and eat some Chicken Spaghetti, yum yum!
Kirby has been a little turd bucket; tracking in something on their carpet, being obnoxious, and whining constantly. Who wants to adopt Kirby? Any takers? (crickets chirping) Dang it....

Mental Preparation
I'm laying in bed knowing I need to run, watching the time go by, realizing it's getting later and later and my day is getting shorter and shorter, but not doing anything about it. Sometimes it's nice to just sit in bed all morning, waste time on the internet, enjoy the fact that you don't have to be anywhere at this exact moment.
The other day I bought a journal called The Book of Us, A Journal of Your Love Story in 150 Questions. I think I'll start this journal on our blog....
This is the story of Brock and Jamie. We met in August 2001.
Before I met you, my love life was...
My love life was during high school for one, which means it was a selfish and immature love life. I dated a few guys in high school, usually for about 10 months. Then I would find out they were cheating or I would get bored and move on. High school seems serious at the time, but when you look back on it you realize how childish it was. When I met Brock I wasn't dating anyone at the time. I had just broken up with a long time boyfriend before I left for college, and was a little heartbroken. I had just moved nine hours away from home to attend college, didn't know a single person, and my dorm mate was a holy roller.

Gotta start somewhere
This is our first blog posting. We'll just jump right in and talk about what we did this morning I guess. I did my "long run" for the week today, which was a 3 mile run around the neighborhood. I dragged Brock and Chloe along because it's more fun to run with someone else. It was 41 degrees this morning, so Brock decided to wear a vest, arm warmers, gloves, and running 3/4 length tights. I wore some capri pants, my awesome Miler shirt, and a headband. Brock insisted I had to wear more, so I put on a vest and some gloves. About a quarter mile into the run off came the gloves and the vest got unzipped half way. I told him, you can't start layering clothes until 35 degrees... Guess that just proves, I'm always right. :)
